Coronavirus & your wedding

As of this week (16/03/20) - Prime Minister Scott Morrison advised a ban on all non-essential indoor gatherings of more than 100 people - one of a number of new measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

This, along with travel bans and other complications, is causing couples who have a wedding booked in the next few months, to postpone their wedding, and look to reschedule later in the year, with many opting to wait until 2021.

This is just a reminder, couples can still “get married” legally, as this only requires 5 people to be in attendance, the couple, their celebrant and two witnesses.

The legal aspect of the marriage performed by the celebrant, can take place. The paperwork can still be lodged and a certificate of marriage will be issued by BDM. Nothing has changed.

The celebration with family & friends is what can be postponed until restrictions are lifted.

That’s enough to give you a Happy Heart.
